Chat Rules

(In game and WebIRC)

Looking forward to keep a high-quality communication service and a fun environment in the chat rooms - be it IRC or in-game chats - Hoplon reserves the rights to ban from its communication venues, users not abiding by the following rules:

- Be respectful of others at all times. Do not make use of Taikodom chat channels to threat, harass, or abuse another user.

- Every form of overtly discriminatory remarks is prohibited. Taikodom is about a massive social game, and therefore it deserves respect.

- Any attempt to call too through excessive use of CAPS, chat floods, bumping, or nonsensical complaints. Punishment will be properly adjusted to each of cases above.

- Impersonating Hoplon's employees, GMs, moderators or any other non-registered user will not be tolerated, since it is regarded as an "out of game" tactic.

- Avoid using obscenities including partially masking (such as asterisks or any other punctuation) words to fool moderators. This type of attitude is totally forbidden and it will be punished according to the one addressed to the real word typed in.

- Do not SPAM in Taikodom chat services. Spamming also means sending identical and irrelevant texts to several users.

- Hoplon does not allow behavior or content related to illegal activities. You may not use our Chat channels to publish, discuss, announce or distribute defamatory, illicit, obscene or any type of illegal material whatsoever. That includes, although not limited to, child pornography, atrocity, incest, illegal drugs, software piracy and harassment.

- You may not use Taikodom's chats to provide links to websites that break the rules of conduct.

- You are the one responsible for your own actions when participating of Taikodom chat rooms. Remember, you are responsible for anything you write.

- Chat channel users can have only 1 (one) online account at a time to access any Taikodom chat. If a user gets caught using 2 (two) or more online accounts, he or she will be punished (except in cases where there is more than one computer connected on lan, which by the way should be told to the moderator).

- Users are not allowed to use the chat channels to criticize Hoplon or its games or defame any of its employees.

- Do not publish or promote any material that might compromise or break the connection of another user or that might allow inadequate access to programs or websites.

- Besides of defending those rules of conduct, you are responsible for respecting and complying with all national and local laws that apply to your current location.

- You are responsible for protecting your computer against any disturbances or virus that might be found at the Internet or in the Taikodom chat channels.

- Players are not allowed to make business aiming at profiting real cash.

- Hoplon reserves the right to ban any chat participant caught trying to break any of the rules above (cases are evaluated apart from each other).

- Any type of complaint concerning the players or Hoplon' members must be reported to suporte@hoplon.com, where a support coordinator (Hawx) and the Game Masters will verify each one of them and report them depending on the situation. Keep in mind that complaints made in any other venues supplied by Taikodom (Forum, irc, mtd, oni, etc.) will not be taking into account. Those complaints will be immediately deleted. Depending on how serious the infraction is, the author can suffer penalties according to this terms.

- We warn you not to share your personal information such as CPF, credit card number, name, address, telephone number, or password. That information may be easily used for illegal or harmful purposes.

- You are responsible for any actions you may take based on information or advices you receive through the net. Use your own judgment to evaluate information provided through any communication service, and remind that this information could be from anyone of any age and any experience level. The decision of carrying out a transaction is all yours only. You should conduct your own investigation before taking any decisions.

- Hoplon reserves the right to change or alter the rules of conduct in the chat channels at all times, without prior notice. Thus, you agree to double-check this document to assure you are doing your job.

Chat Penalties:

Levels of Penalty:

Punishments are inflicted on users disrupting the chat channels. They go from temporarily freeze of account/nickname to permanently block account. Penalties are classified and graded from "light" to "capital".

Light - Receives one kick.

Moderate - Receives a warning.

Severe - Account suspended.

Capital - Account banned.

Severity of infractions is upon Hoplon team's concerns.

Remember: Rules are for those who do not follow them. That is, if you just want to play Taikodom by yourself or in group and having fun with it, then these rules do not concern you.

Reminding that sending an email to suporte@hoplon.com is the most reasonable way to denounce abuses of any nature. This practice helps improving the chat channel mechanics.
